Born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa, chart-topping singer/songwriter/guitarist/producer Melvin Jameshas been on a steady rise ever since signing with MCA and the 1987 release of his breakout single, "Why Won't You Stay".
His career has spanned more than four decades in the bands, The Crash Street Kids, Melvin James and Planet Melvin as well as producing and scoring music for MGM and DreamWorks feature motion pictures. Melvin James brings an eccentric creativity and passion to everything he does in life. Melvin James was inducted into the Iowa Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame in 2020.
