Since relocating from Kansas City in 2017, Scout has become a fixture in Brooklyn’s music scene, playing in multiple live bands and even starting her own booking company to organize local shows. Her intrepid nature was borne of necessity; the product of a childhood spent running barefoot through rural Missouri and a coming of age in Kansas City’s punk scene.
Jeanines:
With a sound that captures the ramshackle energy of C-86-style guitar pop, the winsome grit of noise pop bands of the '90s, and some classic folk-rock jangle, the Jeanines are a Brooklyn duo who know their indie pop history, as their 2019 self-titled debut and 2022's assured follow-up Don't Wait for a Sign clearly demonstrate.
Told Slant is the songwriting project of Felix Walworth, Brooklyn based lyricist, producer, and founding member of The Epoch arts collective. Walworth started the project in 2011 as a means of marking a stylistic shift in their song writing, specifically toward understated, ambling arrangements and simple, illustrative lyrics. Told Slant’s debut LP, Still Water, was self-released in 2012, then re-released and pressed to vinyl by Broken World Media in 2014. The band released their follow full-length record, Going By with Double Double Whammy Records in the summer of 2016.
