About Nocturne
Nocturne Wednesdays held the distinction of being America's longest continuously running weekly dance party of any genre. Featured in Spin and Billboard as well as numerous regional publications, Nocturne was held at a variety of venues but was best known for its long run at the Philadelphia institution Shampoo. The event blended a number of musical styles and visual aesthetics, uniting a variety of subcultures. It was perhaps the only party where patrons could dance to Prince, Slayer and Joy Division in the same night. 3 DJs brought their own take on alternative music to three different dancefloors.
The Nocturne 2023 Reunion follows the very sold-out 2019 Reunion event. A planned follow-up in 2020 had to be scrapped for obvious reasons. This year's reunion sees long-time Nocturne DJs Jon Gill and Kathy Fadigan joined by Mike Saga. Underground Arts will have three dance floors open for this event so that patrons can experience the Nocturne 3-room format as they remember it.
Nocturne is produced by Dancing Ferret Concerts, serving Philadelphia's music fans since 1995. Further details about the event can be found at www.dancingferret.com

About DJ Mighty Mike Saga
DJ Mighty Mike Saga: (Narrated by Christopher Lee) Once upon a midnight dreary, there was a DJ named Mighty Mike Saga, hailing from the land of Philadelphia. With his black cloak and gothic attire, he haunted the city's club scene with his masterful mixing of goth, industrial, and related subgenres. His spinning skills were renowned, and those who dared enter his domain were swept up in a dark and mesmerizing musical trance. The pounding beats and haunting melodies echoed through the night, luring in those seeking a taste of the forbidden and the macabre. Rumor had it that Mighty Mike Saga had made a deal with the devil himself, trading his mortal soul for the power to control the dance floor. Some even whispered that he was not of this world, a being from the shadows who had come to feed on the souls of his listeners. His music pierced the very fabric of reality, transporting his audience to a world of darkness and ecstasy. And so, the legend of DJ Mighty Mike Saga lives on, a phantom of the night who continues to spin his dark magic and captivate those who dare to dance in his shadow.
