Lido Beach

Lido Beach is a town that lives just in the shadows of Long Beach, New York. It is also, as it happens, the name of Scott Waldman’s musical foray, and the place where he grew up. Perhaps it in that geographical atmosphere that Waldman first learned he was not content merely to stay in the background. Waldman moved to Los Angeles in 2003 where he soon thereafter began playing bass in pop-rock band The City Drive. While creating music under another musician’s vision, Waldman continued to write on his own, and there, in his writing and through his personal struggles at the time, Lido Beach was born. “I really just wanted [to write] heartfelt, emotive lyrics,” Waldman notes. “Definitely that’s how it started.” These days, Waldman does take a backseat to manage artists and a selection of producers as his primary gig, but as of 2018, is creating again and resurrecting his old music with the help and fresh ears of several producers to sate what he describes as a “creative lull.” That is not to say he’s sidestepping the other facets of his career. As with his entire musical journey, Waldman will continue the hustle, doing double duty behind the scenes and in the spotlight. “I just want to touch more people and be whatever the antonym for ‘toxic’ is,” says Waldman. “I want to be a source of light, and if a negative experience has gotten me to write and record something, that, I feel, is so much more positive that punching a wall or drowning my sorrows in drinking or drugs.”

Cartoon Choir

Southern California native, Jack Mendenhall spent his youth bouncing from instrument to instrument until becoming a (pun intended) jack of all trades and master of none. He started writing songs in high school with an emphasis on storytelling and humor. Jack started Cartoon Choir as a recording project while living in Portland, OR. He recorded a 5 song EP titled "The Internet & Mythical Creatures" in a friend's apartment aiming to create songs that utilized aquatic guitar tones and fun stories. Jack then moved to Los Angeles and expanded Cartoon Choir with the help of drum tycoon, Lauren Parker and bass deity, Nathan Baldridge. The trio have refined their sound and added more songs to the Choir's repertoire. Wobbly guitar riffs floating on top of a driving rhythm section set the stage for children's books tales to define Cartoon Choir's sound. Come curious, leave delighted.

Care

Care is a Los Angeles-based artist that creates electronic music driven by rhythmic synths and has made a name for himself in the L.A. club scene.

The underground of electronic music, where Care currently resides, is fruitful and vibrant in its own unique way.

There is an element of 80s electronic music in Care’s sound, as demonstrated by the vintage sounding synth patches and repetitive drum beats. It combines the straight-forward tempo of house music with an almost darkwave sensibility in the synths.

Care has a distinct blend of influences in his music that comes across as all his own.
